My Luxury Scent Box Experience

Luxury Scent Box Package

The quest to find your signature scent can be so much fun! It can even be likened to dating… you test many and then choose one. Or, you can be like the serial dater who never chooses just one. The subscription box service is a fitting solution, no matter the situation.

I tried LUXSB- the official Luxury Scent Box (not to be confused with, and having no affiliation with Scent Box), a luxury (duh) scent subscription service. They mail a 30-day supply of perfume each month. I love the idea of not having to invest hundreds of dollars into perfumes that will sit on my dresser for years because I can’t use them fast enough.

What I find enticing about this company are the brands they offer. I don’t know about you, but I like to smell unique. I want people to stop me and ask what I am wearing, as opposed to recognizing the scent because it is super-popular. They have brands that are exclusive to their company, and lots of niche brands to discover. It’s nice to be in-the-know about the newest and hottest trends from all over the world.

I decided to be given the royal treatment and use their concierge service to have them choose my scents. As if the anticipation of getting a package filled with new perfumes to try isn’t enough, the eagerness of finding out which fragrances I will get is enough to cause heart palpitations! But, hey, I waited until both my children were born to find out their sexes, so I guess I like surprises. I also like that they choose seasonally-appropriate scents. Sometimes, we may not take into consideration which fragrances wear better in different climates when we choose them ourselves.

Without further ado, here are some of my favorites:

Ilk Devious- You can’t tell me “nothing” when I’m wearing this! I feel like I stepped out of the pages of W Magazine, like I smell like a million bucks. This fragrance smells like it is expensive, and it is extremely refined. Yet it is subtle, with just the right amount of sweetness to turn heads, but not be considered a gourmand. This is perfect for the classic or mature man or woman, and the youthful ingenue alike. It is the epitome of a unisex scent. It smells 100% feminine, yet 100% percent masculine. This is definitely full-bottle worthy. Oops, I forgot to mention that although Luxury Scent Box is a subscription service, you can also buy full bottles when you find something you love.

Gisada Switzerland Ambassador Woman- This is another refined fragrance. I could totally imagine myself somewhere as an ambassador and smelling the part. The fruity notes of pear, raspberry, and apricot make it fun, like I like to visit the tourist sites while I’m in a country on assignment. While the Tonka bean, vanilla, and musk anchor the fruity notes and tone them down, as if to say I am still all about business. This has bad bi…, uh, chic written all over it!

Made in Pigalle Elsa in Alesia- This is so authentically Parisian that I am almost transported to the city itself when I wear it. It is lively and energizing, yet subtle and romantic. This is one that I wouldn’t have picked for myself by reading the notes alone. Who would think freesia and peony could tame watermelon? But, they do! This is a fruity-floral fragrance with sophistication.

Juliette Has a Gun Pear Inc.- This is another one that I would not have tried based on the name or notes. I wouldn’t think that I’d want to walk around smelling like a pear. Oh, but thank goodness for the concierge service at Luxury Scent Box that introduced me to this beauty! This was my first foray with Juliette Has a Gun. The branding always intrigued me, so I was excited to try it. Still, I figured a fruity fragrance would be too sweet, but it is so well-balanced that the pear is the star, but not overpowering. It is complex, and truly unisex. This was certainly a pleasant surprise.

Fair Parfum Bisou- This one here made a serious impression on me. When I put this on, my young son said that I smelled “different”. I asked him if it was “different good” or “different bad”. He told me “different good”. That is the best way to describe this fragrance. It is floral and spicy, yet absolutely unisex. I was so intrigued that I had to look up more information about the company, and I saw that their prices were extremely affordable, but you would never guess because this perfume smells so expensive. This gem is one of perfumery’s best-kept secrets!

Subscription box services are a fragrance-lover's dream! If you are looking for one that will have you smelling like a million bucks, I recommend Luxury Scent Box.
